Most knife hinges are designed for doors and cabinets, which close differently than folding tables. For this project, I modeled different hinges in Rhino and then had them manufactured through SendCutSend. I did a little bit of post-production tooling in order to countersink my flush-mount rivets. The image below illustrates the measurements for the hinges.
Part of the brief for this class was to make the project accessible for DIY purposes. We were required to generate directions for the construction of the product; these process images and directions are included below.
